Where the pressure builds

Small gaps become expensive distractions.

CIS brings together status decisions, verification, payment data, deduction calculations, statements, records and monthly deadlines.

When those jobs sit across spreadsheets and inboxes, finance teams lose time fixing mismatches and answering the same pay questions. NZTWORX helps turn the moving parts into a controlled monthly rhythm.

The CIS cycle

Six connected points of control.

Use NZTWORX across the complete process or focus support where your current workflow is under the most strain.

01

Structured onboarding

Collect UTRs, identity records, insurance and supporting documents through a consistent workflow.

02

HMRC verification

Verify subcontractors when required, record the result and apply the tax treatment HMRC returns.

03

Weekly processing

Process approved timesheets, separate labour and materials, and calculate CIS deductions accurately.

04

Clear statements

Provide payment and deduction statements with the figures subcontractors and finance teams need.

05

Monthly returns

Prepare and file the return from reconciled records, with acknowledgements retained for reference.

06

Useful reporting

See costs, deductions and liabilities by pay period, project or other agreed reporting view.

Month by month

A workflow built around the deadline.

Contractors generally need to report their CIS payments to HMRC each month. NZTWORX keeps the underlying checks, pay records and reconciliation moving toward that submission.

Useful answers

CIS questions, clearly answered.

When does a subcontractor need to be verified?

HMRC says contractors must verify a new subcontractor before payment, unless the relevant previous-return rules mean a fresh verification is not needed. The information supplied must match the details the subcontractor used with HMRC.

What is included on a monthly CIS return?

The return reports payments made to subcontractors through CIS, including relevant deductions. It also includes declarations about employment status and verification.

Can NZTWORX work with our existing systems?

Yes. We begin by mapping your current inputs, approvals and outputs, then agree the most practical way to connect payroll data with your accounts, HR and reporting tools.

Does outsourced support remove our responsibilities?

No. Your business remains responsible for its statutory duties and for decisions such as employment status. We make the agreed administration and reporting more controlled, visible and manageable.
